Nyak Amir was born from the mother of Hj. Baiti with Ayahanda H. Muhammad Amin Abdu Latif (deceased), in Rawang itek Panton Labu Aceh Utara Province of Aceh, on 25 November 1974. He married to Lusi Indrayanti, S.H. and has 4 children, there are : Muhammad Suthan Nyak Arief, Shifa Amelia Husna, Muhammad Raja Arafat Nyak Arief and Muhammad Raja Salman Nyak Arief. Nyak Amir mother’s name is Hj. Baiti H Husein and His father name is H. Muhammad Amin Abdu Latif (deceased) and was born in Rawang itek Panton Labu Aceh Utara Province of Aceh, on 25 November 1974. He married Lusi Indrayanti, S.H. and blessed with 4 children: Muhammad Suthan Nyak Arief (Under graduate student in Brawijaya, Malang), Shifa Amelia Husna (Senior High School Modal Bangsa Banda Aceh), Muhammad Raja Arafat Nyak Arief (Elementary School Elementary School) and Muhammad Raja Salman Nyak Arief (Kindergarten).

Nyak Amir completed his study in Elementary School in 1987, Junior High School in 1989, and in 1992 he graduated from Senior High School Panton Labu Aceh Utara, then he continued his undergraduate study at Physical Education Health and Recreation Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Department Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh and graduated in 1997. In 1999 he move to Surabaya to continoue his study in IKIP Surabaya in Sport Education Department and finished it in 2001 and for doctoral Degree he got from Universitas Negeri Surabaya at Sport Science Department in 2004. In 1999 he was appointed as an lecturer in Physical Education Health and Recreation Faculty of Teacher Training and Education Universitas Syiah Kuala Banda Aceh.
